ocho

Features:
Overall:
•Achieves all game functions: hurdles, herd, remove from overpass, place on overpass
•physically incapable of violating
•Most sophisticated sensor package in team history
•IR-based hybrid functionality
Drive System:
•6WD
•4" center traction wheels, custom 4" OMNI wheels on each corner for fantastic maneuverability
•3 speed shift on the fly Dwalt XRP transmissions
•~12 ft/sec top speed
•24:1 gear ratio
•screw-based chain tensioning system
Inclinator:
•inclined at 15 degrees to move trackball mass above robot as height increases
•~74" of travel
•PID based position control
•electronically controlled braking slows descent
•driven by 2 CIM motors through Andy Mark Toughbox transmission at 12.75:1 ratio
•redundant cabling increases reliability
•Linear bearing surfaces are a hybrid of custom-made HDPE linear slides and 80/20 system nylon rollers on oil-impregnated bronze bushings
•pneumatic take up reel insures proper management of tubing to Ball manipulator

x7

Features:
• 11 square feet of platform space per lift accepting robots of any orientation
• Gas springs are used for lifting, making the system completely passive once released. This means that lifting will continue after power is cut at the end of a match if they're released.
• Lift time is approximately 4 seconds.
• Springs actuate a four bar linkage to lift the robots 14" upward. Four-bar helps keep robots parallel to the ground and is statically stable, helping to overcome the tremendous torque exerted by a 150 lbs. robot; four bar reacts against the floor rather than against the robot, so we can lift one robot without tipping.
• Because the lifts are completely self-sustaining, they're easily removable. Hitch pins act as pivots when the lifts fall to the ground and allow us to remove the whole mechanisms from the robot in a matter of seconds. This design feature is necessary because it's not practical or safe to move a 10' wide robot around the field after a match.
• We're able to score 60 Bonus Points at the end of every match.

heX

Features:
•Unappreciated in its time
•Collected and stored up to 40 balls from the arena floor
•Dumped them into corner goals in large quantities, offsetting scoring advantage of shooting
•First implementation of trademark drivetrain that incorporates four omni wheels for precise, rapid control on the field.
